Eurofins Environment Testing Australia is an Environmental testing network of fully accredited laboratories. With a staff of over 200 our laboratories are located in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Brisbane, with Client Service Offices located in Adelaide, Darwin, Newcastle and Wollongong. We also operate field sampling services out of Melbourne and Sydney. We specialise in all areas of Environmental analysis, including Contaminated Soil, Sludge, Sediments, Leachate, Soil Vapour, Trade Waste Effluents, Sewage Effluents, Stack Emissions, Work Place Air, Ambient Air, Dust, Drinking Water, Surface Water run off, River & Stream Monitoring, Seawater, and Groundwater.

  • Full time, permanent opportunity based in Dandenong South, VIC

  • Sunday - Friday, 8pm - 4am shift

The Laboratory Technician will be responsible for ensuring all samples are appropriately prepared and analysed in a timely manner while assisting with various other laboratory duties, to achieve operational, customer and quality requirements.

The duties of the role will include but not limited to:

  • Prepare samples for analysis by mixing, blending and weighing, in accordance with sample/analysis requirements and preparation methods.

  • Perform routine analysis, validations and project work in an efficient and effective manner.

  • Ensure external and internal clients’ requirements are met / exceeded.

  • Ensure efficient utilisation of laboratory materials.

  • Operate, calibrate and maintain equipment/instruments as required.

  • Complete all quality control records in accordance with quality requirements and work instructions.

  • Perform general housekeeping duties, ensuring a safe and hazard free work environment.

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Certificate / Diploma in Laboratory Techniques; or equivalent qualification; or significant laboratory experience.

  • Experience in a commercial laboratory will be an advantage.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to structure thoughts deliberately, logically and directly.

  • Knowledge of standard office applications, especially MS Word and MS Excel.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task.

  • Full working rights in Australia.
