The Laboratory Technician is responsible for assisting the laboratory function by ensuring all samples are appropriately prepared and analysed in a timely manner while assisting with various other laboratory duties, to achieve operational, customer and quality requirements. Reporting to the Team Leader, the role will focus on the following duties:
Sample receipt and documentation
Sample weighing and allocation
Processing of food samples for chemical and microbiological analysis
Performance of equipment quality control and maintenance
Assisting sample reception staff when required
Assisting with laboratory’s store management system.
Certificate / Diploma in Laboratory Techniques; or equivalent qualification; or significant laboratory experience.
