The Laboratory Technician is responsible for assisting the laboratory function by ensuring all samples are appropriately prepared and analysed in a timely manner while assisting with various other laboratory duties, to achieve operational, customer and quality requirements. Reporting to the Team Leader, the role will focus on the following duties:

  • Sample receipt and documentation

  • Sample weighing and allocation

  • Processing of food samples for chemical and microbiological analysis

  • Performance of equipment quality control and maintenance

  • Assisting sample reception staff when required

  • Assisting with laboratory’s store management system.

Certificate / Diploma in Laboratory Techniques; or equivalent qualification; or significant laboratory experience.
