Description
Summary:
Assists the pharmaceutical staff in expediting and delivering quality care to the patients at Danbury Hospital. Ensures that products and services are provided in timely, safe and cost effective manner according to department policies, procedures, and practice standards.
Responsibilities:
Fills "Below Minimum" reports of the Med Select system utilized by the nursing units to ensure that appropriate levels of medications are maintained. Delivers medications to patient care units and ancillary departments.
Attends and participates in staff meetings to identify & resolve issues & establish quality improvement processes.
Receives and processes shipments of pharmaceuticals.
Deals courteously and tactfully with patients & staff.
Meets department standards for attendance, punctuality, customer service, telephone communication & cost containment.
Operates pharmacy information systems.
Attends safety training and complies with standards.
Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Education: HS GRAD/EQUIVALENT

Required:
Minimum Experience: zero to six months
Desired: Pharmacy Technician experience. Computer skills, ability to multi-task and work independently.
Working Conditions:
Manual: Some manual skills/motor coord & finger dexterity
Occupational: Little or no potential for occupational risk
Physical Effort: Very Heavy effort. May exert up to 50 lbs. force
Physical Environment: Generally pleasant working conditions
