POSITION SUMMARY

The Evaluator/Facilitator completes mental health screenings and developmental screenings as assigned, collaborates with the Program Manager and medical/dental team members, and completes written reports within specified time frames.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS

Master’s level or above and experience working with children and familiar with administration, scoring, and interpretation of mental health/developmental assessments is required. Displays excellent work habits (e.g., provides excellent service, attendance and promptness at work and meetings, timeliness in completing work).

Licensure Requirements for Clinical Positions

Must hold one of the following credentials:Licensed in the State of Connecticut unless Psychology post doctoral student.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Conducts program specific screening and mental status evaluations, and formulates diagnosis in accordance with the Diagnostic Statistical Manual (DSM).

Seeks supervision or consultation as needed and follows through with supervisory directives.

Develops and documents, clear clinical formulations and treatment recommendations that are individualized based on screening results.

Demonstrates knowledge of psychopathology and other behavioral health concerns and primary modalities of psychotherapeutic intervention.

Utilizes trauma-informed and relationally-based interventions, and reports suspected child abuse/neglect, according to agency policies and procedures.

Triages clinical emergencies and implements program specific safety and consultation protocols.

Makes recommendations for treatment/intervention based on best practices and evidenced based practice models appropriate to specific problems identified.

Meets direct service productivity goals as defined by program.

Complies with third party programmatic requirements, which may be amended as needed.

Completes full MDE reports.

Demonstrates sound judgment and decision-making by maintaining the ability to plan, organize, disseminate information, and analyze and resolve problems.

Demonstrates knowledge of program/department/agency goals and target outcomes, and adheres to practice standards and to data collection and reporting protocols.

Communicates in a positive, effective manner with client, family, and all internal and external providers.

Attends any required meetings.

Continues to develop knowledge and understanding about the history, traditions, values, family systems, and artistic expression of groups served as well as uses appropriate methodological approaches, skills, and techniques that reflect an understanding of culture.
