Actalent Electrical Manufacturing Engineer in Danbury, Connecticut
We are looking for an Electrical Manufacturing Engineer to join our team.
You will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and implementing electrical systems and products.
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will support the detailed design, analysis, integration, and testing of advanced optical and electro-mechanical systems for state-of-the-art military (ground, airborne, space) systems.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
5+ years of experience in electrical manufacturing engineering or a related field.
Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, including circuit analysis, electronics, and electromagnetism.
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and simulation tools (e.g., SPICE).
Experience with electrical testing equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, multimeters).
3-5 years of experience in opto-mechanical fabrication, assembly, and alignment of high-fidelity space systems.
Experience in being part of, and leading, an assembly/integration team.
Experience in preparing technical reports and presentations.
Solid understanding of machine shop processes, machine design, strength of materials, hardware, and hand tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Experience with PLC programming (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens).
Familiarity with automation technologies (e.g., robotics, vision systems).
Certification as a Professional Engineer (PE) or equivalent.
Responsibilities:
Design and develop electrical systems and products, including circuit boards, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
Conduct feasibility studies and technical investigations to identify potential design improvements.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet customer requirements and industry standards.
Develop and implement prototypes, test plans, and test procedures.
Conduct root cause analysis and troubleshooting of electrical system failures.
Design for manufacturability and manufacturability assessment.
Collaborate with the manufacturing team to ensure a smooth production process.
Develop and maintain documentation of designs, testing procedures, and test results.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends, technologies, and regulations.
