Title:Per Diem Medical Practice Patient Representative (Clerical Assistant) NHMP Float Team Region A or C: - Float Differential $ Included! - 8 hour shifts between 8:00am - 5:00pm.

Exciting opportunity for a candidate looking to gain experience in all different types of medicine - Primary Care, Surgical, Specialty.

*Must have reliable transportation - Float Pool employees provide coverage to medical offices that are in need of coverage. Great way to network, develop your skills and work in various medical departments - Primary Care, Specialty & Surgical Offices, etc.


*Region A:Will cover medical offices/departments in the following towns: Danbury, Brewster, Ridgefield, Brookfield, New Milford, Newtown & Southbury.

*Region C:Will cover medical offices/departments in the following towns: Wilton, Norwalk, New Canaan, Darien and Westport.

Summary: The Nuvance Health Medical Practices Intern program is offered to college students interested in pursuing a career in healthcare. Eligible hires will be provided an intensive orientation with progressive ongoing training. Provides clerical and administrative support and coordinates the patient care activities for physician practice.

Responsibilities:

  1. Ensures accuracy of patient's information, including demographics and insurance.

  2. Performs reception of customers and communicates pleasantly and effectively.

  3. Answers phones, routes calls, take messages, conveys information, and assures accurate communication.

  4. Registers, verifies and schedules patient appointments, testing, and referrals.

  5. Reschedules cancelled, no show, tickler appointments.

  6. Processes record requests, including the copying, billing, charging and recording.

  7. Collects co-pays and reconciles moneys for deposit.

  8. Obtains and coordinates record retrieval for new and established patients.

  9. Completes audits as assigned.

  10. Performs intake and processing of medical records and other documentation and correspondence via eFax.

  11. Presents a professional appearance and image.

  12. Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.

  13. Maintains and Model Nuvance Health Values.

  14. Demonstrates regular, reliable and predictable attendance.

  15. Performs other duties as required.

Other information:

Education Required:High School Diploma/GED or equivalent • 1 year customer related experience required • Preferred: 1+ years of healthcare experience

PRN Rate Region A: $22.58

PRN Rate Region C: $24.83

The Nuvance Health Medical Practices Intern program is offered to college students interested in pursuing a career in healthcare. Based on the requirements for the Medical Practice representative, eligible hires will be provided an intensive orientation with progressive ongoing training while having the opportunity to work in a Healthcare setting. In order to provide study while being paid, scheduling expectations are availability in summer and on winter vacations. They will be responsible to support patient care initiatives within their scope of practice and training.
