Job Title: Assistant Warehouse Manager
Location: 41 Eagle Rd, Danbury, CT 06810 (to move to Brewster, NY future)
Summary
In the Assistant Warehouse Manager position, youll lead our 2nd shift team to ensure our shipping warehouse is running smoothly, safely and efficiently.
Each shift you will lead our team of forklift operators as they pick, stage and load orders for outbound shipments, while maintaining a clean and organized warehouse floor. An ideal candidate for this position has experience working in a busy warehouse environment and leading teams of 8+ forklift operators in a shift.
This position will report directly to the Warehouse Operations Manager.
Schedule
Monday-Friday
3:30pm-12am/Midnight
Overtime may be required
Note: this position will move to our Brewster, NY warehouse location in the near future (Expected move date is in Q1 of 2025)
Role/Responsibilities
- Ensuring proper procedures are followed for efficient warehouse activities, with an emphasis on the companys culture of food safety and workplace safety.
- Leading our team of forklift operators in the successful execution of shipping LesserEvil products, this includes but is not limited to:
- Overseeing a successful transition from day shift to night shift with assistance from the day shift supervisory team.
- Expediting all shipping activities and assigning projects to the floor team as necessary.
- Overseeing all activities for staging the next shipping days orders.
- Managing product inventory on the warehouse floor by working with the Inventory Supervisor to open storage lanes for incoming products and communicating with the floor lead to ensure they understand where to put those products.
- Enforcing policies and procedures for the warehouse team in alignment with the HR Department and Warehouse Leadership.
- Supervising the warehouse office and sanitation functions associated with 2nd shift shipping and receiving activities.
- Leading other warehouse team members in their responsibilities and communicating with other supervisors and managers when support and direction is needed with their direct reports (ex. Transportation team members)
- Ensuring alignment with other supervisors and managers to XYZ
- Ensuring compliance with all forklift safety and maintenance responsibilities.
- Monitoring pest activity and warehouse cleanliness to prevent pest activity.
- Leading by example in regards to a positive attitude, attendance, and interpersonal communication.
- Utilizing a continuous improvement mindset by recommending improvements to processes and procedures.
- Performing other related duties as assigned and special projects as designated.

- Mentor, develop and inspire team leaders to encourage growth and skill development through counseling, hands-on training, and other methods.

Qualifications:
- High School degree or equivalent work experience
- 4+ years of warehouse experience in a large warehouse environment
- 1+ year of leadership experience in a warehouse environment
- Extensive experience operating a sit-down forklift, required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work without direct supervision
- Ability to collaborate with different departments
- Proficient with Gmail, Excel and/or Google Sheets, preferred
Eligibility Requirements:
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Must be willing to work in Danbury, CT
- Able to lift at least 50 lbs.
- Able to bend, lift, pull.
- Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
- Able to spend ong periods of time sitting and working on a computer.
- Assessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned.
- Must have a reliable vehicle as daily trips between factory, warehouse, and office may be necessary.
