Description

We are offering a contract for a permanent position in the government sector for a Staff Accountant based in the Arlington, Texas area. Our workplace focuses on maintaining financial accuracy and efficiency. In this role, you will be tasked with the vital responsibility of processing financial transactions, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing financial analysis.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the recording, classification, and summarization of financial transactions in the general ledger.

• Conduct monthly bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy in cash accounts.

• Manage the tracking and processing of invoices for payment.

• Assist in the preparation and review of budgets and forecasts, analyzing variances between actuals and budgets.

• Provide support during internal and external audits by gathering and organizing necessary documentation.

• Monitor company expenses, maintain proper documentation, and process employee expense reports.

• Facilitate the closing process for month-end and year-end, including making necessary journal entries and adjustments.

• Deliver analysis and reporting on financial data, identifying trends, variances, and performance metrics.

• Manage company assets, record depreciation, and oversee asset disposal or transfer.

• Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial data and reporting.

• Communicate financial findings and provide insights to senior management.

Requirements

• Possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

• Proven experience as a Staff Accountant in a government setting is desirable.

• Profound knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.

• Demonstrated proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).

• Proven ability to perform Bank Reconciliations.

• Solid understanding and experience with General Ledger functions.

• Experience in preparing Journal Entries is required.

• Familiarity with Month-End Close procedures.

• Must be proficient in QuickBooks.

• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, vlookup, and other advanced functions.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Must be detail-oriented and possess strong organizational skills.

• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

• Ethical conduct and integrity is mandatory.

• Must be a team player and have the ability to work independently
