Process Engineer

Position Overview

Shaw Industries is looking for a Process Engineer to initiate & lead efforts that improve the Finishing department (Coater, CST, & Offline Shear) in all areas such as safety, cost, quality, customer service, and development of the Finishing team. Responsibilities will include working on continuous improvement of processes by developing and driving innovative solutions. In addition, this position will manage flow of products through the departments and build customer satisfaction by ensuring production of first quality carpet.

Essential Duties:

• Achieving first quality of Finishing Dept. products by leading initiatives

• Establishing procedures that drive safety, quality, and cost

• Setup and/or assist on manufacturing trials and raw material changes

• Responsible for Lockout/Tagout program

• Lead and drive downtime reduction efforts

• Develop and/or maintain process specifications for each department

• Collaborate with internal/external suppliers, customers, and other facilities

• Responsible for submitting requests for changes to Q.E. Department.

• Initiate and implement improvements to equipment

• Communicate and train Finishing Department personnel on operating procedures

• Responsible for leading the data analytics efforts for the department regarding production, downtime, quality, cost, etc.

• Demonstrate good judgment concerning quality

• Coach & support supervisors and associates

• Fill in for the Finishing department manager or shift supervisors as needed

Qualifications

• 4 year degree required; Engineering degree preferred

• Previous manufacturing experience preferred

• Strong communication skills (written and oral)

• Strong analytical skills

• Good technical skills

8 Hr non-rotating shift, Hrs fall to in punch day, Observed Calendar, shift starts AM
