Aerotek Welder in Dallastown, Pennsylvania

Job Title: Welder

Job Description

The Welder will be responsible for laying out and fitting metal parts according to blueprints. These parts are typically made of aluminum or steel and range from 2" thickness down to thin gauge sheet metal. Once the parts are fitted and tacked into place, the welder will use MIG or TIG welding styles to weld the parts according to the prints. After welding is completed, they will grind and finish the parts for the next stage in the process.

Responsibilities

  • Lay out and fit metal parts according to blueprints.

  • Use MIG or TIG welding styles to weld parts as per the blueprints.

  • Grind and finish welded parts for the next stage in the process.

  • Read and understand blueprints and weld symbols.

  • Perform welding on both aluminum and steel, from sheet metal to thicker steel.

  • Clean and grind welds to meet quality expectations.

Essential Skills

  • 4+ years of welding experience with MIG and TIG welding.

  • Proficiency in reading and understanding blueprints and weld symbols.

  • Experience in welding aluminum and steel, including sheet metal and thicker steel work.

  • Ability to clean and grind welds to meet quality standards.

Work Environment

The work environment operates like a large job shop, with work performed in welding areas using Miller welding machines. Welding involves both aluminum and steel. Employees must work near moving mechanical parts, in environments with fumes/airborne particles, extreme hot/cold weather conditions, risk of electrical shock, risk of radiation, and a very loud environment. Must be able to tolerate fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.

SHIFT

Current openings are on 1st Shift M-F 7am to 3pm.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00
