Topgolf Sr Project Manager, OneTopGolf in Dallas, Texas

Manager role will manage the delivery of the One Topgolf initiative to deliver an optimized technology foundation for the future bay experience at Topgolf, enabling an improved player experience and cost optimizations in parallel. With a broad understanding of technology and vast experience in product development, this person is adept in managing projects that involve several technology development teams covering a broad range of domains (including application software, network and compute infrastructure, mechanics, electronics, and firmware), and multiple business stakeholders (executive leadership, finance, operations). The role requires strong stakeholder management and ability to bring clarity and direction in ambiguous environments.

Essential Functions

  • Planning - Work with product managers and architects to assess “the why”, “the what” and “the architectural how” at a high level. Record detailed requirements, constraints, and assumptions with stakeholders to establish the project deliverables and scope. Work with appropriate delivery teams to translate the business and architectural requirements into a work breakdown structure. Prepare detailed project plans that meet project goals and are aligned with product roadmaps.

  • Execution - Responsible for all high-level project documentation and ongoing communications. Manage day to day operational aspects of projects, including scope, schedule, budget, and quality. Develop and manage to release schedule, including test, launch support, hardware rollout, and business readiness. Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs. Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques to monitor the progress of the project, identify and quantify any variances, perform any required corrective actions, and communicate to all stakeholders.

  • Leadership – Align backlogs of several product-focused development teams and facilitate cooperation to ensure project efficiency. Use leadership and influencing skills to ensure that cross-functional teams are held accountable for task and outcome completion.

  • Process – Collaborate with other project managers to define, align and implement project management tooling and best practices. Be part of defining and contributing to an overall project management structure that serve the leadership with the required oversight.

  • Strategy – Work close to the Sr Director responsible for the One Topgolf initiative to align high level initiative strategy with business requirements, operational needs, organizational capabilities, and technology dependencies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree is a plus.

  • [Required, 6+ years] Experience in Project Management function, leading a combination of software and hardware development initiatives, including roll-out and life cycle management.

  • [Required, 6+ years] Proven ability to influence and lead others in a multi-team environment.

  • [Required, 6+ years] Experience applying project management best practices and introduce tools and processes as required. Jira experience is required.

  • [Required, 6+ years] Proven ability to manage stakeholder expectations and balance results with capacity.

  • [Required, 6+ years] Experience managing a portfolio of projects.

  • [Preference, 6+ years] Experience in working with external vendors of delivery of both software and hardware.

Critical Skills

  • Create and maintain project plans, roadmaps and backlogs using Jira as the main project management tool to keep track of scope, plans, priorities, dependencies, resourcing, milestones, etc.

  • Understanding Agile methodologies and Product Development Life Cycle principles for both software and hardware development.

  • Ability to establish credibility with business and technology stakeholders and become a trusted partner.

  • Working with stakeholders to balance business needs with technology capabilities.

  • Ability to effectively work in ambiguous environments.

  • Analytical thinking with a strong focus on the customer and a drive to develop a deep understanding of both business and technology architecture.

  • Using online work collaboration tools to enable efficient collaboration in a hybrid work environment. Written and verbal communication skills. Time management skills.

  • Leadership, conflict management, and negotiation skills. Advise and mentor more junior team members. Interview new team member candidates.

  • Organizational and administrative skills. Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
