Description

The Senior Accountant supports the Accounting Director with a wide variety of functions which include transactional processing, financial analysis, quarterly financial reporting and monitoring, cost allocation, program and annual audit support and the implementation of financial and compliance controls. He/she serves as a key resource for the organization and provides daily financial oversight to ensure that the financial records are complete, accurate and comply with generally accepted accounting principles, policies and regulations, to facilitate solid decision support. The Sr. Accountant implements the policy decisions of the Board, brings issues for resolution to the attention of the Accounting Director and, volunteers solutions to problems and courses of action. This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with all tax guidelines and requirements, risk management issues, and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

ACCOUNTS RECEIVALBE

Responsible for reconciling bank deposits and billing department postings to the general ledger

Works closely with the Billing department to ensure accurate recordings of accounts receivable and daily cash balancing.

TREASURY MGMT

Ensures timely transfer of payroll funds to Payroll Service Provider.

Responsible for daily treasury/banking and deposit uploads

Records and processes other income such as call pay.

PERIODIC CLOSING

Assists Accounting Director with periodic financial statements and Physician reporting

Processes and posts journal entries for routine transactions and ensures accuracy of General Ledger

GENERAL LEDGER

Works as part of the team to Maintains General ledger and Chart of Accounts in accordance with (GAAP) and a modified cash basis of accounting.

Additional Duties

Performs other tasks and duties as may be added from time to time.

Position Requirements

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s degree (BS in Accounting or BBA) or equivalent; and four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Required Proficiencies or Specialized Knowledge

Accounting systems (advanced QuickBooks Enterprise), MS Office Suite (Advanced Excel Skills), Typing-35 WPM, working knowledge of standard office equipment.
