Job Summary
TheShipping Coordinator IIwill plan, direct, or coordinate transportation and storage activities in accordance with organizational policies and applicable government laws or regulations. The loading and unloading of small and large aircraft engines using a forklift, pallet jack, or heavy-duty forklift safely are required. (Other duties may be assigned)
Essential Job Duties
Receive and ship all engines using checklists and producing photo reports.
Complete inspections for incoming and outgoing engines, parts, or other items.
Issue Dangerous Good certifications for shipments when required.
Able to effectively use shipping software for Fed Ex, UPS, DHL or other vendors.
Update the company MS Access system used for storage billing.
Work well with other departments such as accounting and customer service managers.
Communicate professionally and effectively with vendors, customers, or other parties consistently.
Safety operates the forklifts to load, unload, and move engines, packages, or other items when needed.
Interact with freight forwarders or truck drivers to set up pickup and deliveries.
Effectively use the Quantum Control and Jetraxx system to process shipping and receiving activities.
Request quotes for crates, freight, or other services when needed.
Complete weekly safety checks and checklists to ensure safety.
Assist Stores personnel when needed by receiving/issuing/ordering parts or tools, including inventories and other tasks as needed.
Understand aviation paperwork for parts (i.e., back-to-birth trace, 8130’s, EASA Form 1’s, and CAAC’s) and other paperwork to determine the serviceability of aircraft parts.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures.
Proactively participate in team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Job Requirements
High School diploma or equivalent.
Dangerous Good certification required or the ability to obtain within 90 days.
5+ years Heavy Duty Forklift experience.
Ability to understand and retain the Repair Station Quality Manual.
Ability to communicate efficiently and professionally.
Obtain working knowledge of Quantum Control and Jetraxx systems within 3 months.
Intermediate to advanced user of Adobe DC & Microsoft Office Programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Read, write, and understand the English language.
Ability to obtain a US Passport.
Class C driver’s license.
Additional Qualifications Preferred
Forklift license.
5+ years Heavy Duty Forklift experience in the aerospace industry.
5+ years of experience with 8130’s, B to B, EASA Form 1, CAAC, and other applicable paperwork.
Aviation parts industry experience.
Knowledgeable of engine tie down procedures and acceptable truck.
Accountabilities
Accountable to the Transportation & Inventory Control Supervisor
Physical Requirement
Must be able to lift 50 lbs. unassisted.
May be exposed to loud noise.
Able to bend, stoop, kneel and stand for prolonged periods, climb steps, ladders, and/or service stands.
Ability to talk, hear and smell.
Reach/handle items, work with fingers and perceive attributes of object and materials.
May need to work outside as necessary.
Normal office environment and performed in the sitting position with the remaining time walking around the office or repair station/shop areas.
Normal or corrected hearing.
May need to work in varying weather conditions.
Visual acuity must be a minimum of 20/40 corrected and must be able to distinguish color.
