Amazon Senior Financial Analyst, Delivery Experience (DEX) in Dallas, Texas

The Delivery Choices within Delivery Experience team (DEX) seeks a data driven senior Financial Analyst, with a strong business and finance acumen, who can dive into the details and help us make strategic and ambiguous decisions that have significant growth and profitability trade-offs. They will be an integral part of the business team and will partner closely with a broad range of global finance and business leaders in Operations, Retail categories, and Supply Chain Optimization teams.

This role is more than finance: it requires ability to invent, go beyond the standard business rules to “experiment” and “conceive” together with the business partners to find financial sustainable solutions to scale across the world. This role is strategic in nature (business partnering skills and curiosity are a must!), and is not a typical Finance role. Key job responsibilities

  • Build financial models to support new product and science initiatives

  • Partner/support leadership on product/project roadmap based on financial and operational efficiency improvements

  • Oversee financial reporting for your business area. Understand input drivers and validate integrity of the reporting to influence strategic decision-making and planning.

  • Identify, resolve, or provide guidance to resolve complex data integrity issues. You improve controls to address financial risk.

  • Communicate data (both written and verbal) in a clear, concise, and unambiguous manner. Adjust style for various audiences to articulate complex finance issues clearly.

About the team

The Delivery Experience (DEX) team has responsibility for all customer facing shipping policies for Amazon. The vision of the DEX organization is that everyone in the world is inspired to shop at Amazon because our delivery offers improve their lives, making the Earth’s largest selection available when, where and how they want it. The DEX portfolio includes Prime shipping benefits, non-Prime free shipping, specialty programs for items that are unusually large/heavy (e.g. Scheduled Delivery) or unusually small and inexpensive, programs that increase delivery convenience (e.g. Amazon Day), incentives to choose delivery offers (e.g. No-Rush), shipping prices and providing environmentally sustainable delivery options to the customers.

Basic Qualifications

  • BA or BS in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a highly analytical field (e.g., Engineering, Math, Computer Science)

  • 3+ years of finance experience or a related analytical field

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA, or CPA

  • Experience working with large-scale reporting tools (i.e. SQL, Cognos, etc.)

  • Comfort with ambiguity and a willingness to work with a high degree of autonomy

  • Highly analytical and detail oriented with advanced financial modelling and reporting skills

  • Independent and entrepreneurial attitude showing the ability to work with minimal direction in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment

  • Demonstrated financial acumen and analytical capabilities with ability to model new growth scenarios to help business partners make sound financial decisions

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $56,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $128,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
