Pediatric Emergency Department Specialty Rate: $62/hr plus applicable differentials
Schedule: Full-Time Schedule (72 hrs per 2 week pay period) 3P-3A

Job Summary and Qualifications
Seasonal Program Requirements – Seasonal PRN Status with a Full-Time Schedule – Program Runs 8/25/24-4/5/25
All seasonal RNs are required to work a minimum of 72 hours per pay period during the seasonal period
Within a close geography, you may be asked to float to another facility that has an emergent staffing need
Four (4) weekend shifts are required each 4 week schedule period
During the course of the 32-week period, the employee is required to work two (2) holiday shifts (defined by Department Manager or designee)
Seasonal Staff are PRN status employees and are subject to first call-off. There are no guaranteed hours by the hospital
Seasonal Staff will not be eligible for benefits, except 401(k) and retirement contribution per the PRN policy
Seasonal Staff will not be eligible for extra shift bonuses
Registered Nurses who are in the Seasonal program will have one opportunity to pass the clinical competency evaluation
Current FT/PT & PRN Level 3 employees are not eligible to join the Seasonal program for 2024-2025 with the exception of RNs that participated in the Seasonal program in the previous year
Current employees of HWS are not eligible for the seasonal program
Shifts may vary based on the needs of the department
What you will do in this role:
You will quickly access and prioritize incoming patients
You will perform comprehensive nursing assessments and stabilize patients
You will provide direct nursing care and supervise non-licensed nursing staff within the RN’s scope of practice and in accordance with established policies
You will provide patient education / follow-up care instructions and make necessary referrals
What qualifications you will need:
Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (ASN) from Texas Board of Nurse Examiners. Compact license is accepted.
BSN required
Current BLS- Healthcare Provider issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross is required
Minimum of one year of experience in an acute care setting, one year ED experience required
CEN and/or CPEN preferred
PALS Pediatric Adv Life Supt must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
Trauma Nursing Core Course must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date
TNCC/ENPC required within 18 months
Nonviolent Crisis Intervention, or Satori Alternatives Manag Aggr must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date
