This position is located in the Legal Services and Special Contracts Group, which provides legal advice, counsel, and guidance in connection with the formation, award, defense, and administration of legal services and other contracts for the FDIC. Responsibilities Identifies tracks and analyzes a variety of internal and external data using operational, analytical and evaluative methodologies to further the efficient and effective functioning of the Legal Division and to further its compliance in meeting the FDIC’s statutory and regulatory reporting requirements. Coordinates with staff of other Legal Division sections and other Divisions to obtain data for analysis, as well as to resolve integrity or variance issues related to the data in the Branch/Section/Unit’s information systems and in systems used by other Divisions to track the same or related information. Obtain and compile data for use by the professional staff in performance of their duties. Evaluates ad hoc, complex, or interrelated information from specialized databases and network drives (e.g., Excel, Access, Clearwell, Tableaux, SharePoint, shared drives, and the Legal Division's Advanced Legal Information System (ALIS)) using a multiplicity of current office and information management tools and software. Prepares quality briefing charts to include summaries of data, statistics, graphs, statistical analysis and compilations of records and reports reviewed and evaluated. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the 7 grade level or above in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as assisting senior staff member with coordinating and performing management analyses, gathering and tracking information, generating reports, reviewing and developing recommendations to improve and maintain operations, and evaluating statistical data from specialized databases and software programs. or EDUCATION: To qualify based on education, applicants must have completed a Master's or equivalent graduate degree (such as an LLB. or J.D.) or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education. OR COMBINING EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: To qualify on a COMBINATION of Education and Experience, applicants must have completed graduate level education as described above, beyond the 1st full year of graduate level education and specialized experience as describe above that together meet the qualification requirements for this position.
