Work hours: Part Time; Wednesday – Friday 8:00a – 4:30p

Here’s What You Need

· Associates Degree or above strongly preferred in Business, Public health, Communications, or related degree

· 3 years’ experience in patient registration, billing, hospital admissions, or equivalent required

· 3 years’ experience in a university setting strongly preferred

· One (1) year Medical Assistant experience within the last three (3) years strongly preferred

· Thorough knowledge of the meaning and use of medical terminology and abbreviations

· Demonstrated sound judgment and composure with the ability to take appropriate action in questionable or emergency situations

· Professional Patient Administrative Coordinator exhibits exceptional ability to communicate professionally and effectively, written and verbally, across disciplines and with a variety of distinct constituents, including participants, guests, staff members, physicians, and volunteers.

· Must possess exceptional customer service skills and the ability to compassionately and calmly respond to the needs and emotions of people under stress.

· Excellent organizational and project management skills with the ability to handle multiple demands as well as respond to rapidly changing priorities.

· Advanced Computer Skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications: Outlook, Word, and Excel, must be highly proficient in EPIC software systems, billing software, medical terminology, and able to easily learn and use web-based software applications for patient access and other clinical administration functions.

What You Will Do

· Responsible for coordinating all administrative aspects of the patient flow beginning to end, from initial referral to patient’s final visit for the IEEM Outpatient Clinic.

· Communicates with patient regarding test results and plan of care by phone or mail as directed by the provider.

· Keeps patient exam rooms stocked, clean, and orderly

· Program Coordination and Maintenance: Coordination and innovation of department administrative projects related to the operation of the clinic. Ensures timely project implementation and team coordination, along with effective project task follow through.

· Financial Operations: Identifies cost trends and researches clinical services to improve revenues for the IEEM clinic. Utilizes data collection and reporting tools to monitor and evaluate financial metrics. Maintains up to date knowledge of the Financial Policy and deployment of practices used within the department, as well as, Central Business Operations to resolve patient accounts.

· Oversight of Clinic Services: Chart Preparations and Patient Follow up, Registration and Insurance Verification, Provides all payment options: cash, checks, major credit cards/debit cards and THR Financing. Presents and thoroughly explains legal, ethical, and compliance related documents and consents. Provides regular status reports during team meeting regarding visit schedules including patient status, patient volumes on unit, insurance approvals pending, and communications received from referring physician offices, etc.

· Provide Administrative support to the physicians, advanced practice providers, members of the nursing staff and/or other disciplines of the clinic.

· Candidate should have extraordinary organizational skills and attention to detail, high level of written and oral communication, highly competent using computer software systems, and excellent customer service skills.
