Robert Half Director of Facilities in Dallas, Texas

Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Director of Facilities based in Dallas, Texas. This role is crucial in managing the interior and exterior infrastructure, building operations, and maintenance programs of our facilities. The Director of Facilities will be responsible for overseeing all building systems, departmental budgets, and leading a maintenance team, among other duties.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the management of all building systems including but not limited to electrical, lighting, HVAC, plumbing, life safety systems, roofing, ventilation, fire, and general infrastructure such as parking lots, escalators, and elevators.

• Direct, train, and supervise a dedicated maintenance team.

• Manage and respond to tenant maintenance requests, needs, and emergencies promptly and professionally.

• Negotiate and oversee contracts with vendors and service providers, ensuring quality and value for money.

• Oversee the maintenance management system for tracking work orders, schedules, and equipment.

• Lead building operations during emergencies and/or severe weather conditions.

• Liaise with the design and construction team on construction work, including renovations and repairs.

• Collaborate with the marketing, events, and landscaping teams on ongoing programmatic needs.

• Implement and oversee sustainability initiatives, including recycling, trash, and energy efficiencies.

• Schedule and oversee all external contractors, including but not limited to, electricians, plumbers, roofers, and painters. Requirements • Holds a minimum of 15 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the building industry.

• Demonstrates proficient knowledge of ERP Solutions.

• Has a comprehensive understanding of budget and buying processes.

• Exhibits excellent customer service skills.

• Familiar with invoice and field operations.

• Is knowledgeable about building codes and building management systems.

• Has experience in managing commercial and office buildings.

• Is capable of strategic planning and decision making.

• Possesses excellent communication and leadership skills.

• Demonstrates ability to manage and lead a team effectively.

• Must have a problem-solving mindset with a strong focus on efficiency.

• Proven track record of managing facilities and ensuring their optimal functioning.

• Able to handle emergencies and unforeseen situations professionally.

• Has the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

• Familiarity with safety regulations and procedures in the facility management spectrum.
