Robert Half Accountant in Dallas, Texas
Description We are inviting applications for the role of a Staff Accountant in the residential industry, based in Dallas, Texas, 75225, United States. The primary function of this role is to manage and maintain financial statements, track cash transactions, and handle other accounting tasks. This role calls for a highly organized individual with a keen attention to detail and proficiency in various accounting systems.
Responsibilities:
• Updating and maintaining financial statements on a regular basis
• Tracking daily cash transactions and reconciling them accurately
• Managing accruals and maintaining schedules for property taxes, HOA dues, leasing commissions, and other entries
• Handling intercompany payables and allocation of costs and revenues to various companies
• Maintaining investor capital accounts and waterfalls
• Processing payables and setting up payments for manager approval
• Reconciling entries into the accounting system and ensuring accuracy
• Overseeing full cycle accounting and closing of the books independently
• Collaborating with third parties for accounting points of contact; tax CPA, audit, year end adjustments, etc.
• Managing loan compliance and reports
• Tracking performance against budget and making necessary adjustments
• Assisting in other aspects of reporting for the company to support leasing, property management, and acquisitions, and track performance
• Assisting in closing homes and coordinating with tile companies, brokers, and other third parties
• Filing and sorting mail and other documents efficiently
Skills:
• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP)
• Experience with Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Knowledge of Bank Reconciliations
• Familiarity with General Ledger maintenance
• Ability to make Journal Entries
• Experience with Month End Close procedures
• Proficiency in NetSuite
• Knowledge of Oracle
• Experience with QuickBooks
• Familiarity with SAP Requirements • Proficiency in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Demonstrable experience in Bank Reconciliations
• Thorough understanding of General Ledger management
• Capability to prepare and review Journal Entries
• Experience in executing Month End Close procedures
• Proficiency in using NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP software
• A degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role within the residential industry
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
