Description
The Office of Student Affairs at the Texas A&M University College of Dentistry invites applications for one full time 100% FTE, academic professional track (non-tenure) faculty position with an 11-month service period; the start date is January 1, 2025, or negotiable. Applicants will be considered for the faculty titles of Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, or Clinical Professor; rank commensurate on review of qualifications. The position will include an administrative appointment as Director of Recruitment and Admissions. The departmental home within the College of Dentistry for the successful candidate will be determined based on the applicant's education and expeience.
The allocation of effort for this position will be 70% administration/service and 30% teaching.
The candidate is expected to work under the direction of the Associate Dean for Student Affairs.
The 70% administrative/service component will be fulfilled by the Director of Recruitment and Admissions. In this role, the candidate is expected to:
· Oversee selection of applicants and conducts interviews.
· Lead and manages the development, implementation, and evaluation of the admissions process for the school.
· Lead and directs operations that support the admissions office.
· Oversee and develops admissions practices, polices, and procedures.
· Assure adequacy of physical and fiscal resources that support the admissions office.
· Provide educational consultation to faculty regarding the roles and responsibilities of the Admissions Office.
· Collaborate with other leaders in Student Affairs, Student Development, School departments and offices, Texas A&M, and external stake holders.
· Advise or oversee advising applicants regarding, eligibility for admission, program options, residency requirements and other matters.
· Assume fiscal responsibility for all Recruitment and Admissions operations.
· Lead the continued development, implementation and evaluation of student recruitment process and admissions procedures.
· Assist with securing funding opportunities for applicable initiatives or programs.
· Monitor budget pertaining to recruitment materials and travel.
· Responsible for overall operation of recruitment.
· Assign faculty and staff workload in accordance with their committee assignments to support the admissions process.
· Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements related to the recruitment and admissions processes and procedures.
· Have an effective administration and address difficult problems, particularly those related to personnel.
· Promote high standards of accomplishment; encourages high standards and expectations for colleagues, staff, and students.
· Invite the expression of and is responsive to colleague, student, and staff concerns.
· Promote an environment of integrity and collegiality that stimulates colleagues, staff, and students to work at their optimum performance levels.
· Oversee the recruitment and appointment of highly qualified people within department.

· Support and advocate for the development of an environment which ensures that colleagues, staff, and students are treated with respect and dignity.
· Attend professional development and networking opportunities as an admissions representative of the school.
· Serve as a role model for innovation, collaboration, and consensus-building.
· Represent the College of Dentistry on university committees and task forces related to admissions issues.
· Serve as a member of school leadership.
· Participate in professional organizations at a level expected for an academic leader.
· Build and maintain professional working relations with College of Dentistry stakeholders.
· Serve as the Head of the DDS Admissions committee.
The 30% faculty role will focus on pre-clinical teaching. As a faculty member, the candidate is expected to:
· Provide didactic teaching for D1 and D2 students.
· Supervise of laboratory exercises.
· Provide feedback on student performance.
· The faculty will also be expected to participate in departmental activities, such as calibration seminars, and those required by the school.

Qualifications
The successful candidate must have:
A DDS degree
Established experience in advising, evaluating, recruiting, and admitting prospective students to a dental school program.
Understanding of Admission Databases.
Experience with various computer systems, including but not limited to , automated student information systems, customer relationship management (CRM) systems, and data processing systems.
Current or previous faculty appointment with experience in predoctoral dental education.
This position calls for a person with experience in screening and interviewing applicants for the DDS programs, coordinating recruiting activities, and managing the day-to-day operations of recruitment, selection, and matriculation of students into DDS programs. It also calls for a person with experience in pre-clinical teaching.
7 Candidate must be eligable to obtain a Texas Dental License.
