Amentum DevSecOps Engineer in Dahlgren, Virginia
Amentum is currently seeking an DevSecOps Engineer to join our award-winning team. Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering and 3 years of experience or Master’s Degree and 1 year of software development experience.
DevSecOps Engineer Responsibilities Include:
Supporting an analysis of software performance characteristics in the software development life and test cycle, to measure the computer processing time usage and come up with better methods of disk space utilization, network loading and throughout.
Enabling designing, coding and maintenance of software support tools and models
Supporting the analysis of tools to aid in the software development process including test automation tools, code coverage tools, and memory checking tools.
Primary work location will be at Fredericksburg, Virginia or Dahlgren Naval Air Station, VA area with occasional travel opportunities.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s of Science Degree (in Computer Science, Math, Engineering, IT Systems, Business Systems or Related Field) +4 years’ experience OR Masters of Science 2 years’ experience OR Ph.D in one of these from an from School of Engineering with at least one (1) curriculum accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) college or university: Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineer, Electronics Engineering, or Software Engineering
Must be able to obtain/maintain a Secret security clearance (at a minimum, must receive/be approved for an interim Secret security clearance in order to start) Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a SECRET Clearance.
Possession or desire to pursue a Comptia Security+ or equivalent Certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with tools such as: Jenkins, SonarQube, GitLab, Docker, Java, Python, Ruby, Perl, Scripting YAML, SAST (Static Application Security Testing), DAST (Dynamic Application Security Testing) and other frameworks and methods to improve the continuous improvement/continuous delivery pipeline of a software development factory.
