Florida Hospital Ocala opened its doors in 1898 as Marion General Hospital and has been in continuous operation since then. Then in 1928, the hospital was renamed to Munroe Memorial Hospital. Adventist Health System acquired Munroe Regional Medical and renamed it Florida Hospital Ocala in 2018. GENERAL SUMMARY:

Responsible for assisting physicians with patient care, clerical, environmental and organizational tasks under the regulatory guidelines of the LPN certificate. Responsible for chart management and assisting with appointment scheduling when required. Provides information to patients so they may fully utilize and benefit from the clinic services. May be assigned to specific medical specialty to help with patient care related to but not limited to surgical patients.

What you will responsible for:

  • Demonstrates the ability to assess and recognize changes in a patient status and to provide appropriate interventions in a timely manner.

  • Carries out selected acts including administering of medications and treatments under the direction of a Physician or Advanced Practitioner.

  • Review lab results for needed provider action and follow up.

  • Demonstrates the ability to assess and provide the necessary care to all patients under the direct supervision of the physician/advanced practitioner.

  • Coordinates pre and post-operative procedures as required by specialty.

  • Assists with in-office procedures as needed or required by specialty.

  • Obtains Insurance Authorizations as needed for necessary medications.

  • Schedules surgical cases and pre-admit testing appointments as required per specialty.

  • Demonstrates critical thinking to facilitate patient care needs.

  • Consistently provides appropriate patient education.

  • Ensures maximum patient flow when working with the patient schedule while providing quality care.

  • Ensures patient needs are met when accompanying patients to exam/procedure room; assisting patients as needed with walking, transfers, dressing, collecting specimens, preparing for exam, etc.

  • Performing screenings per provider guidelines; assisting physicians/nurses when needed as required by specialty.

  • Maintain a clean, fully stocked exam and procedure room with 100% compliance regarding cleaning and sterilization.

  • Accurately set up instruments and equipment according to department and clinic protocol.

  • Sorting, storing supplies; restocking exam/procedure rooms based on office needs.

  • Accurately collects patient medical history, current complaints, adds vitals as required for patient assessment.

  • All other reasonable duties as assigned

Qualifications

What you will need:

  • Completion of LPN program

  • 2+ years preferred

  • Active LPN license State of Florida, current BLS
