The Group Retiree Actuarial Pharmacy team supports all Employer Group Waiver Plan (EGWP) pharmacy pricing and any analytic work to ensure accurate and timely rates. This role would be responsible for assisting with pharmacy client pricing, running monthly reports, working with internal platforms to support the pricing season / updates, completing pricing studies, and other ad hoc requests. Given the material changes to Part D as defined by the Inflation Reduction Act, this role plays a critical role to support quality, on-time pricing and works closely with our business partners (e.g., underwriting).

This role will allow the individual to dive deeper and build their Part D pharmacy knowledge and support client pricing. This is a rapidly changing and dynamic business area which will allow the individual the opportunity to not only learn more about the pharmacy landscape but also gain an understanding of how changes impact clients / members along with the business. This role gives individuals an opportunity to build their analytic skills (e.g., reviewing pricing trends / emerging experience, developing pricing studies), technical skills (e.g., Excel, SAS) and communication skills.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Associate Director and other Analysts to prepare, review and complete pricing requests for EGWP Part D

  • Support Part D pricing studies to inform rate development strategy, to include reviewing emerging plan experience and trends

  • Assist Associate Directors with and complete ad hoc analyses using Excel, SAS, etc.

  • Complete system updates to maintain the pharmacy pricing process

  • Work cross-functionally to assist business partners with technical and / or pricing questions

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

  • 2+ actuarial exams passed

  • Willingness to enroll in UHC’s Actuarial Leadership Development Program upon start

  • Reside within a commutable distance of a UHC office

  • Ability to work in a UHC office five days a week

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with Excel, VBA, SQL and / or SAS

  • Actuarial work experience

  • Healthcare industry experience: Medicare experience is a plus

Residents Only: The salary range for this role is $58,300 to $114,300 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
