Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District Assistant Inventory Supervisor in Cuyahoga Heights, Ohio

Description JOB SUMMARY Works with the Inventory Supervisor on the operation of storekeeping and distribution facilities for the District's Inventory Control department. Ensures staff is properly trained and updated on policies and procedures. Manages inventory audits and proper disposal of inventory. Performs other duties of a similar nature as may be required. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS - Works with the Inventory supervisor to oversee the daily operations of the District's warehouse and distribution of inventory, including inventory control. - Manages and delegates responsibilities to staff to ensure all incoming and outgoing inventory is processed according to the needs of the District. - Works with the Inventory Supervisor to ensure all policies and procedures for the warehouse are documented, updated, implemented, communicated and followed to provide an efficient and safe environment in the warehouse. - Evaluates storeroom activities for accuracy and quality. Oversees the handling and processing of all inventory. - Works with the Inventory supervisor to manage the cycle counts and physical inventories. - Investigates discrepancies, damages or other non-standard conditions not handled by the Storekeeper. - Responsible for managing the cycle counting process and ensures that Storekeepers are reconciling inventory products. - Manages the receipt and distribution of warehouse items. - Maintains and ensures processes for obsolete product reviews and proper disposals are updated and followed. - Coordinates the set-up for new items and ensures bin location management. - Ensures the warehouse is organized, and inventory items are able to be located as needed. - Audits all warehouse paperwork and daily logs are maintained. - Responsible for investigating issues such as inventory discrepancies, mismatched documents and location errors. - Leads assigned staff. Participates in assessing performance, provides constructive feedback, documents discipline issues, provides additional training and takes corrective action as needed. Regularly meets with staff to exchange information, review project status and identify new opportunities for improvement. Participates in recruitment efforts of warehouse staff. - Performs other duties of a similar nature as may be required. MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS - Candidate must possess a bachelor's degree in Business, preferably with a concentration in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Management or a closely related field. - Equivalent combination or relevant education and experience may be substituted as outlined in the Education Equivalency Policy. - Candidate must possess two (2) years of experience in a warehouse environment. - Experience in supervising, managing, and/or leading people, projects, and/or processes is preferred. - Previous experience in a union environment is preferred. OTHER REQUIREMENTS - Candidate must possess a valid driver's license with a driving record in accordance with the District's acceptable guidelines. - Candidate must possess effective written and verbal communication, organizational skills, abilities. - Candidate must possess ability to manage large accounts and tackle emergencies and difficult situations. - Candidate must be detail oriented and capable of managing large amounts of data, maintain detailed comprehensive records, analyze and organize information, have effective project and time management skills and be well organized. - Candidate must be able to successfully perform general math calculations and have strong calculation skills. - Candidate must possess the ability to effectively manage people and processes, plan and coordinate effectively, establish and maintain effective working relationships. - Candidate must have knowledge and pro
