Apple's Wireless Systems Compliance Engineering team is looking for a hardworking, proactive individual to take ownership for ensuring inductive charging products meet all worldwide Regulatory requirements!

Key Qualifications

  • Practical knowledge of inductive charging hardware, architectures and system considerations as it related to emissions.

  • Experience with performing regulatory tests including spurious emissions, occupied bandwidth, frequency accuracy, spectral mask, etc. at either conducted or radiated environments.

  • Experience with hands-on disassembly and making of experimental modifications to intricate hardware as part of debugging issues.

  • Experience using lab equipment including spectrum analyzers, power meters, network analyzers, vector signal generators/analyzers and oscilloscopes.

  • Working knowledge of EM and radiated theory inside portable wireless devices including accurate grounding, shielding, and radiated emissions mitigation techniques is a plus.

  • Experience with circuit-level and system-level simulations is a bonus.

  • Strong technical reporting, presentation and communication skills.

Description

  • You be responsible for assessing RF platform-level aspects of inductive charging towards regulatory compliance requirements, including: - Executing validation & characterization test plans towards meeting world-wide regulatory emissions requirements. - Performing failure analysis to understand low margin or failing behaviors, making use of experimental SW/FW and modified development hardware. - Collaborating with multi-functional staff, technology suppliers and vendors to address marginal RF behavior, driving issues to closure. - Learning about all applicable inductive technologies and industry standards including Qi in relation to Apple products. - Tracking validation status; analyzing results; communicating issues & bringing insights from data. - Bringing-up device-under-test, helping to define test requirements and implementing test systems setups for validation preparedness. - Supporting Certification of Apple products. - Experience debugging marginal/failure tests and engaging with multi-functional teams like RFHW/Antenna/Product Design/EE/etc. and drive design changes to address issues.

Education & Experience

Bachelor's Degree with 3 or more years of relevant work experience.

  • At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $138,900.00 and $256,500.00, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
