Description

APPLE INC has the following available in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Design and implement scalable data platforms for customer-facing services. Monitor production, staging, test and development environments for multiple teams in an agile, dynamic, fast-paced engineering organization. Deploy and scale Hadoop infrastructure to support data pipeline and related services, including EMR, Kafka and Kubernetes. Build infrastructure capabilities to improve resiliency and efficiency of the systems and services at scale. Drive data infrastructure and pipeline, services and upgrade/migrate projects from start to finish. Perform data cluster monitoring and troubleshooting to have better availability and uptime services and systems on AWS to ensure zero downtime serving of Ads on Apple's internet services. Perform capacity planning, management, and troubleshooting for HDFS, YARN/MapReduce and Spark workloads to facilitate migration of Apple's Ad infrastructure to AWS from on premises data centers. Participate in rotational on-call schedule to identify, solve and remediate issues in real time Ad serving on Apple Infrastructure. Partner with program management, network engineering and other cross-functional teams on the larger initiatives to design and setup Ads infrastructure on AWS while playing a leading role on Infrastructure adoption, integration, and SRE standard methodologies. Work simultaneously on multiple projects, including AWS migration, automation tooling, and new initiatives, and prioritize them accordingly. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $177,838 - $264,200/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related occupation.

  • 5 years of experience with each of the following skills is required:

  • Use AWS to design and implement EMR for handling terabytes of data used for data analysis pipelines.

  • Utilizing Hadoop ecosystem, including Hive, Spark and Zookeeper to design infrastructure for large-scale distributed data processing jobs, and interactive SQL queries, and machine learning applications.

  • Conducting Spark tuning and implementation to ensure flawless performance, prevent bottlenecks and improve efficiency of near real-time data processing and insights.

  • Experience in deployment and automation of infrastructure in AWS using code.

  • Handle object oriented design and design patterns using Python or Golang.

  • Experience in setting up and designing monitoring solutions for large scale systems on AWS and on premises systems using Cloudwatch, Prometheus and Grafana.

  • Experience in implementation and administration of multi¬-datacenter container¬-centric management systems to orchestrate computing, networking, and storage infrastructure on behalf of user workloads using Kubernetes and docker.

  • Computer networking with working experience of OSI model, HTTP, DNS, TCP/IP and load balancing.

  • Experience in working with relational and NoSQL Databases such as Oracle, Cassandra and Redis.

  • Experience with the entire stack of Linux Operating System, including Kernel, Memory, Process, Threads, Shared Libraries, IPC, Signals including tuning and debugging.

  • 1Exploring and evaluating new technologies and solutions to push infrastructure capabilities forward and help scale the infrastructure for future growth.
