The Tools & Frameworks organization is looking for an experienced Senior Manager to lead a new team responsible for driving a key technology area. This team will be responsible for ownership and development of multiple key platform frameworks, with broad impact across software within Apple and across our platform ecosystems. The role includes responsibility for overseeing the strategic and tactical direction of these frameworks and related technologies, orchestrating a roadmap that aligns the strategic goals of the new team with the needs of many internal cross-functional partner teams, while also ensuring a well-designed and supported API for 3rd party developers in Apple’s platform SDKs. A successful candidate will be a seasoned leader with a strong background in iOS software development, ideally with substantial experience in framework development as well. You will be responsible for shaping the team itself, overseeing multiple individual sub-teams, ensuring successful partnership with multiple cross-functional teams, and defining the strategic direction of the technology area. The ability to lead a large group of senior engineers while providing strategic guidance, making critical decisions, and managing external stakeholder expectations will be crucial to this team’s success.

Description

Develop and execute both strategic and tactical plans for the technology area, taking in to consideration the needs of multiple external stakeholders. Manage and mentor a team of senior engineers across multiple sites, creating a culture of inclusion, collaboration, and excellence. Build and maintain strong relationships with multiple cross-functional stakeholders, both within Tools & Frameworks and across Apple.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A proven track record of strategic leadership of a large team, and a history of executing on strategic initiatives

  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with a focus on team building and individual development

  • A bachelor's degree in Software Engineering or equivalent experience is required

  • 5-10 years of senior leadership experience managing software engineering teams

  • At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $277,300 and $416,700, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
