The External Reporting Analyst reports to the Senior Manager of External Reporting. The individual in this role participates in the preparation and filing of external reports mandated by U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations, and supports the quarterly review and annual audit processes. This position is also focused on accounting research and assists in the interpretation and implementation of complex reporting and accounting issues and new accounting pronouncements. The position involves significant interaction with various individuals in Apple's functional and geographic organizations around the world. This individual must be a dedicated self-starter who can work with minimal direct supervision in an exciting and fast-paced environment. Key Qualifications

  • 3+ years of Big Four public accounting experience

  • Strong financial reporting and technical accounting skills, including working knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting requirements and Sarbanes-Oxley 404

  • Proven ability to execute and deliver on commitments and drive change

Description

Assist with preparing and filing SEC periodic reports, including Forms 8-K, 10-Q and 10-K Implement and maintain procedures to ensure the timely accumulation of information vital for financial reporting functions Monitor, research and interpret new U.S. GAAP pronouncements and SEC reporting needs and assess their impact on the financial statements, disclosures and reporting processes Prepare and review financial information in press releases and investor relations materials Collaborate with business partners to review financial reporting processes and identify/implement opportunities for continuous improvement Maintain documentation of compliance with SEC financial disclosure requirements Prepare external reporting white papers and memorandums Work closely with external auditors and assist in the coordination of the annual audit and quarterly reviews Assist with Sarbanes-Oxley 404 compliance in the financial reporting area

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Accounting or Finance, CPA preferred

  • At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $105,200.00 and $158,100.00, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
