Description

As the Manager of the SWE Data Science team, you will oversee the team's efforts to collect, analyze, and interpret vast amounts of data while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., GDPR, DMA) and company policies. The insights are used to improve Apple's products and services, to inform strategic directions, and to improve user experience. We are a fast-pace and high-functioning team of Data Scientists that use the latest Big Data technologies to tackle complex, large-scale problems using immense quantities of collected data. This team works closely with core operating system, application development, and other cross-functional teams across Apple’s platforms. The ideal candidate is someone who is comfortable working in an exciting environment with rapidly changing priorities while fostering a culture of innovation within the team by encouraging experimentation, diverse perspectives, learning from failure, and continuous improvement. We work collaboratively to improve our software and customer experience, and we have fun while doing it!

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS in Statistics, Data Mining, Machine Learning, Analytics, Applied Math, Computer

  • 2+ years management experience leading Data Analytics teams

  • Track record of ensuring high levels of team and customer success and satisfaction, ideally in the area of Big Data

  • Ability to develop team members to achieve their professional goals while committing to diversity and equity

  • Technical proficiency in advanced statistics, modeling knowledge, data visualization (e.g., Tableau), relational databases, and/or Python.

  • Experience with applying Big Data technologies (e.g., MapReduce, Hadoop, Spark) to large quantities of data

  • At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $219,300 and $329,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
