Play a part in building the next generation of generative AI applications at Apple. We’re looking for Scientists and Researchers to tackle ambitious projects that will impact the future of Apple and our products. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to work on innovative problems in machine learning, particularly focused on LLM's. As a member of the Apple HCMI group, you will be working on Apple's generative models that will power a wide array of new features, as well as longer term research in the generative AI space. Our team is currently interested in large generative models for vision and language, with particular interest on safety, robustness, and uncertainty in such models.

Description

  • Research and advance red teaming methods for LLM's and diffusion models - Research and develop mitigations and safeguards to ensure safe deployment of LLM's in Apple products - Develop tools, metrics, and datasets for assessing and evaluating the safety of LLM's over the model deployment lifecycle, as well as methods and tools to help interpret and explain failures in language models

Minimum Qualifications

  • Demonstrated expertise in ML research

  • Publication record in relevant conferences (e.g., NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, EMNLP, etc.)

  • Hands-on experience working with deep learning toolkits such as Tensorflow or PyTorch

  • Deep understanding of NLP and LLM's

  • Ability to formulate a research problem, design, experiment, implement and communicate solutions

  • Ability to work in a diverse collaborative environment

  • At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $199,800 and $300,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
