Cullman County Commission Maintenance Mechanic (CDL) in Cullman, Alabama
The Cullman County Commission is hiring a Maintenance Mechanic (CDL). The employee performs tasks to assist Sr Maintenance Mechanic in the service and maintenance of department vehicles and sanitation truck attachments. Checks, changes and repairs tires on department vehicles. Assists on residential routes as needed. Other duties as assigned.
Must Possess:
- Must possess and maintain a valid Alabama Class B CDL drivers license or ability to obtain Class B CDL within set time period and have a driving record that meets standards set by the countys insurance carrier.
- Ability to communicate and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, co-workers, and the general public.
- Must possess basic mechanical knowledge, including oil changes, tire changes/repairs, etc.
- Ability to read and interpret manuals, directives, procedures and instructions.
- Ability to work in extreme weather conditions as needed.
- Ability to work non-standard hours, holidays and weekends as needed.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor
This is a "safety-sensitive" position. Successful candidate must pass a pre-employment drug screening and will be subject to random, unannounced drug testing throughout employment with the County in all "safety-sensitive" positions.
