If you are an Electrical Technician looking for an opportunity to grow, Copeland has an exciting opportunity to grow! Based in our Cudahy, WI location, you will join our forward-thinking team that thrives on multidisciplinary excellence. Joining forces with mechanical, electrical, and PLC engineers, project managers, designers, and application engineers, you'll be a crucial part of production, quality assurance, and R&D ambitions, driving our commitment to cutting-edge solutions in renewable natural gas and food safety. Reporting to our Electrical Engineering Team, you'll enjoy a diverse array of responsibilities, including the careful testing of production units, loading of Allen-Bradley PLC applications, support for electricians in troubleshooting challenges, and adherence to standardized practices. In this role, your ability to seamlessly navigate both collaborative and independent settings will be key, as will your unwavering commitment to safety. Good communication skills will be key to success in this position a well as a dedication to attention to detail.

AS AN ELECTRICAL PRODUCTION TECHNICIAN, YOU WILL:

  • Perform final checkout and inspection of wiring installation of control panels and sensors on industrial compressor units.

  • Oversee proper wiring practices to ensure compliance.

  • Load Allen-Bradley PLC control panels with software and test the software for proper function.

  • Support team members on electrical system product improvements and standards

  • Serve as subject matter expert and work directly with customers, electricians, and general production personnel to troubleshoot issues and provide product training.

  • Provide support to the R&D lab in maintaining and reconfiguring electrical and controls layout.

  • Read and interpret electrical schematics and piping and instrumentation drawings for correctness and proper installation.

  • Complete and maintain all required paperwork, standard file documentation, drawings, schematics, etc.Minimal travel may be required.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:

  • 2-year degree in electrical or controls-related fields, or equivalent experience.

  • 3+ years of electrical and/or controls installation and troubleshooting experience.

  • Must be a self-starter, work autonomously, and see projects through on time and with the highest possible quality.

  • Firm understanding of electrical wiring practices.

  • Must have a firm understanding of how to read and interpret electrical schematics as well as piping and instrumentation drawings.

  • Excellent written, organizational, and oral communication skills.

  • Legal authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this position.

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:

  • Electrical field experience either troubleshooting or installation.

  • PLC programming experience is valuable.

  • Experience with AutoCAD Electrical and/or EPLAN engineering tools.

Working Conditions:

This position works primarily in an active factory environment and will be frequently exposed to noise and dust. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to climb ladders, squat near the floor, reach over obstacles, and get in and out of tight spaces. The employee may be required to work near moving mechanical machinery and may be exposed to fumes, oily environments, and risk of electrical shock.
