Job Summary
We are seeking a Website and Sharepoint Developer to join Battelle’s team supporting a United States government client responsible for countering the procurement, stockpiling, and employment of Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD).
This position is contingent upon award.
Responsibilities
Works independently and as a member of a multiple functional, dynamic team.
Develops solutions to complex problems in creative and effective ways by analyzing existing programs and new systems.
Devises logic and coding for complex issues where analysis of situation or data require in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
Maintains/documents/updates server configuration for SharePoint and SharePoint web parts.
Designs, builds, and curates web-based, cloud-based, and SharePoint-based (or similar) data/information repositories.
Builds websites and web content using html, java, and other applications suitable for USG systems. Responsible for developing, testing, implementing, and maintaining web-based application systems, such as user interface, e-commerce applications, or site animation.
Performs research on technical problems and suggests improvements for web applications.
Designs and develops user interface features, site animation, and special-effects elements. Contributes to the design group’s efforts to enhance the look and feel of the organization’s online offerings. Designs the website to support the organization’s strategies and goals relative to external communications. Tags content for ease of retrieval and discovery on public and internal sharing venues.
Key Qualifications
DoD Secret clearance
Minimum of 3 years relevant work experience
Microsoft SharePoint developer/technology specialist certification(s)
Microsoft ASP.Net, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, or other commonly used programming languages, Adobe Creative Cloud
Knowledge of commonly used web developing language (e.g., HTML, JavaScript, Java, Flex, Flash, AngularJS, HTML, jQuery, PHP, JSP, ASP.Net, Python, and AJAX)
Microsoft Operating Systems/application, SQL database server, and SharePoint designer software tool experience
Problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
Ability to work independently without direct supervision or guidance and have mastered time-management and organizational skills to meet deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (computer science/engineering preferred)
Military work environment experience
Agile Development work environment experience
Work locations include government site in the National Capital Region and/or Battelle’s Crystal City office.
