EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER Summary Description: Completes the day to day tasks associated with employee benefits plans by coordinating timely benefits processing including enrollments, changes in coverage, and other routine participant changes or requests. This includes using the HRIS to maintain records and create reports. Interacts with and submits benefits changes to employee benefit providers and TPAs. Answers questions and helps employees and HR Reps with benefits enrollment changes and questions. Handles highly confidential and sensitive employee information. Essential Functions: Enrolls new hires in employee benefit programs Processes changes in employee benefits programs per employee requests Interacts with payroll on a regular basis to communicate changes impacting employee benefits Communicates participant changes to benefits providers and TPAs using file feeds and carrier connections Creates and uses HR/payroll reports to verify benefits provider and TPA records Files employer portion of claims for multiple benefit carriers Maintains employee benefit files Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions Position Requirements: Minimum of 3 years experience in employee benefits and/or human resources, or a job-related bachelors degree Minimum of 1 year experience working in employee benefits and/or human resources in an HRIS environment preferred Work is generally performed indoors in environmentally controlled conditions Typically the employee may sit to perform the work. However, there may be some standing, walking, bending and carrying of light items in the course of the work Critical Skills / Expertise Ability to relate well to others Excellent written and oral communication skills Knowledge of standard office equipment Knowledge of office administrative procedures Knowledge of Microsoft Office, with emphasis on Word and Excel Must have high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations. Some analytical ability is required in order to gather and summarize data for reports, find solutions to various administrative problems, and prioritize work.
