Gardner Denver Transport provides equipment which efficiently transfers bulk material from road tankers and other vehicles. As global requirements advanced, we started developing into wider applications and we now produce equipment for alternative markets including specialised transport, on-board power systems for operating/powering other equipment, and bespoke electric compressor packages for e-mobility vehicles.
Within our Bradford facility we design, machine, assembly and install our entire Bulk Powder and Liquid Compressor range for Road Transport Vehicles. Providing our customers with the whole product life cycle is number one for us and with our mobile service engineers we offer from concept design, manufacture, installation and aftermarket support.
Summary:
Day to day Technical leadership of the design and development of electronic hardware, systems and modules. The Rapid Development Cycle our market demands offers the opportunity to shape the product development lifecycle for our small series production applications. The scope of the role offers total product ownership from initial concept discussions with customers, sales and engineering, right through production into service and subsequent aftermarket support where required.
Responsibilities:
Technical leader for design of electronics projects
Manage electronics design and development projects along with Engineering Manager
Provide technical input into new product strategy roadmap
Plan resources & activities to suit deliveries. Assign & prioritize tasks to team members along with Engineering Manager
Hardware architecture development & PCB design
Instrumental in device selection relating to Microcontrollers and FPGAs
Translation of requirements into design detail, Specification & Requirement capture according to process and industry design standards
Lead design reviews of electronics hardware projects
Generation of technical documentation such as Bills of materials, system wiring diagrams/tables, system & sub-system specifications, test protocols and reports
Specification / development of development & production test equipment
Supplier liaison on technical specifications and timely manufacture of prototype parts
Drive continuous improvement through investigation & resolution of development, launch & any ongoing quality issues in service involving electronic assemblies
Maintain, update & improve department procedures
Technical mentoring and development of electronics team
Adherence to company plans, procedures and product performance goals
Required Experience and Education
Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Electronic Engineering.
Minimum 2 years’ experience in Linux
Minimum 2 years’ experience in Python
Minimum 2 years’ experience in Electronic Hardware Design
Strong first principles approach with a demonstrable experience delivering tolerance and lifetime calculations.
Desirable Experience
Design of low voltage analogue and digital electronics for automotive ECUs
Experience implementing automotive communication buses such as CAN J1939
Experience implementing automotive safety capable microcontrollers
Circuit simulation
Experience working in an SME on product development in a fast moving industry
Experience developing work products in support of ISO26262 safety engineering process
Knowledge of best practice for design in accordance with global EMC standards
Willing to travel to clients' sites and provide customer support assistance when required.
Relevant master's degree.
Knowledge of automotive standards.
Additional Information

Full Clean UK Driving License.
