Responsibilities
Achieve team production and efficiency goals by working to meet all operational and quality standards to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
Perform somewhat diversified operations to smooth and finish generally simple castings. Remove parting lines, flash, positive metal and other surface defects.
Use hand grinder, abrasive tools and a variety of standard hand tools. Select and change tools as necessary to meet requirements of each job.
Visually check casting surfaces for flaws and other defects.
Smooth surfaces, blend contours and other features where surface finish and dimensional tolerances are not usually critical. Exercise care to avoid damage through mishandling or over-finishing of both exterior and interior surfaces.
Detect faulty operations, defective material and report these and any unusual conditions to supervis
