Strategic Category Manager - NESCAFÉ® Dolce Gusto® Machines

Location: Gatwick (Hybrid working – approx. 2 flexible days a week in the office)

Salary: £50k - £60k dependent upon experience + potential bonus + 12 flexible days in addition to holiday entitlement + other fantastic benefits

A day in the life of a Strategic Category Manager...

In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing the plan to maximise availability and visibility of NESCAFÉ Dolce Gusto machines.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Deliver a top down machines forecast into the business based on category and channel performance trends, comparing and aligning with the bottom-up forecast provided by the Customer Team and machine partner sell-in forecast.

  • Develop the recommended machines ranging and distribution plan for bricks & mortar and online channels, providing the appropriate toolkit to enable Machine Partner and Key Account Manager to execute the plan.

  • Managing Machine Partner day-to-day business: ensuring and tracking of monthly machine partner sell-in forecast, stock situations, promotional plans, weekly and monthly meetings, etc.

  • Develop recommended machines pricing & promotions plan, providing the appropriate toolkit to enable Customer Team to propose plan to machine partners and customers. Able to use agency data platforms like GFK, Circana, Kantar.

  • Manage machines related investment within agreed budgets.

  • Manage the coffee bundle process with machine partner and demand planning including ordering of sample orders. Updating Global Business Unit (GBU) templates on machine volumes total.

What will make you successful?

You will have:

  • Proven category development experience within an FMCG environment, and ideally within the Electrical category

  • Highly developed commercial acumen

  • An ability to combine sound analytical thinking with the imagination to develop innovative proposals, presented in an inspirational and compelling way

  • Strong influencing and communication skills at all levels, both up and down the organisation

  • Excellent Stakeholder engagement skills – both internal and external

  • Strategic thinking
