What You’ll Get to Do

For this position, you will provide engineering and technical support to assist our government customer on the AN/SAY-3 EO/IR system.

You will support design of below deck support equipment for Situational Awareness Systems (SAwS), to include development and review of design documentation such as System Requirement Documents (SRDs), Performance Specifications, (P-Spec), Design Specifications, and Interface Control Documents (ICDs).

You will support development and execution of Test Evaluation Master Plans (TEMPs), generate and review Requirement Traceability Matrices (RTRM), Test Procedures, Test Plans, Requests for Variance (RFV), and deviation requests as needed. This will include interacting with Naval Sea Systems Command's Naval Systems Engineering Directorate (NAVSEA05) technical warrant holder (TWH) community to verify that designs meet requirements or has the appropriate waivers.

You will develop ship installation drawings, and technical manuals. You will also Develop and Review Ship Change Documents (SCDs), Ship Installation Drawings (SIDs), Installation Control Drawings (ICDs), Technical Manuals (TM) and Maintenance Requirement Cards (MRCs), and work with On Site Installation Coordinators (OSIC) to support installations.

You will develop and review Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for Maintenance and Lab Tasks, and Acceptance Test Procedures (ATPs); in addition, work with the customer Quality Focal Point (QFP) to verify base policies are being followed.

You will support continued maintenance of existing equipment and systems, to include identification of replacement parts or solutions for obsolete parts, diagnostic analysis of field failures, and implementation of corrective actions. This will also include development and review of Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), and working with the logistics and configuration management system teams.

You will also support maintaining system certifications, including preparation of Objective Quality Evidence (OQE) for Element Certifications, Combat Certifications, and Authority to Operate (ATO). This will include preparation and presenting of presentations for Review Boards, and interacting with Program Executive Offices Integrated Warfare Systems 2 (PEO-IWS2) to insure documentation OQE is submitted properly

You will demonstrate competent writing and oral communication skills

You will also ensure quality products and services are delivered to the customer.

More About the Role

  • Perform trade studies, engineering / technical analysis and other technical evaluations to assist the AN/SAY-3 team in requirements allocation.

  • Review technical documents and recommend improvements to foster standardization of document types, document format and data file naming.

  • Write procedures, work instructions and design practices criteria to standardize Electro-Optic Technology work products.

  • Investigate issues pertaining to the AN/SAY-3 system requirements and associated engineering changes.

  • Evaluate technical specifications and applicable performance requirements.

  • Recommend and prepare inputs for test plans, procedures, etc. and provide other recommendation as needed for AN/SAY-3 test events (both virtual and live tests).

  • Support the EO/IR customer with engineering services, as required.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications

  • Four year ABET accredited Engineering Degree

  • Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Familiar with the Department of Defense (DOD) System Engineering Technical Review (SETR) process.

  • Familiar with Naval Environmental Test Procedures such as Electromagnetic Environment Effects (E3) MIL-STD-464/1, Temperature MIL-STD-810, Vibration MIL-STD-167, Shock MIL-STD-901.

  • Competent in MS-Word, MS-Excel, MS-Power Point.

  • 3 to 5 Years experience with Systems Engineering / Design.

  • Familiar with Electro-Optic and Infrared (EO/IR) systems.

  • Experience with GenICAM video protocols, Motion Imagery Standards Board Key Length Value (MISB KVL) metadata standards, or US Army's Integrated Sensor Architecture (ISA).

  • Experience with Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) designs.

  • Familiar with Model Based System Engineering (MBSE)

  • Familiar with Night Vision Integrated Performance Model (]NV-IPM)

  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite; Security clearance is required before starting this position).

  • Demonstrated experience with requirements traceability / tracking and Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools to include DOORS and CAMEO.

  • Active security clearance.

The proposed salary range for this position is:

$67,100 - $141,000
