This position is hybrid in nature at the discretion of the manager typically requiring 2-3 days/week on-site at the Westinghouse Global Headquarters in Cranberry Woods, PA in the Greater Pittsburgh Area. Qualified candidates outside of the Pittsburgh area able to work a hybrid scenario in other Westinghouse facilities may be considered. No relocation will be provided for this position. We are able to entertain all candidates authorized to work without sponsorship now and in the future as we are unable to sponsor Visa's for this opportunity.
Your Day-to-Day: The successful candidate can expect to perform awide variety of licensing activities associated with nuclear reactors. This includes: Developing licensing change evaluations (e.g. 10 CFR 50.59), license amendment requests, Topical Reports, fuels reload safety evaluations, and loose parts evaluations. Developing and maintaining an effective working relationship with Westinghouse customers. The candidate will act as a focal point for communication between Westinghouse engineering, Westinghouse customers/licensees, and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC). Supporting Westinghouse innovation efforts by creating licensing documents for submittal to Westinghouse customers and the NRC. This includes innovation related to Westinghouse Fuels, existing operating plants as well as new plants and advanced reactors. Providing licensing and technical expertise for strategic initiatives, including communication with Westinghouse leadership. Supporting the resolution of emergent significant issues that impact the license. The candidate will work with Westinghouse engineering and customers to drive the issues to closure. Delivering licensing presentations to internal and external stakeholders. Evaluating engineering design changes with respect to regulatory requirements.
Who You Are: As a successful candidate, you will bring the following to the team: Bachelor of Science in Engineering Minimum 5 years' experience. Typically, 10-12 years of experience. Minimum 5 years' experience Nuclear Industry. Knowledge and familiarity with NRC regulations and nuclear industry guidance Excellent oral and written communication skills Nuclear safety and customer focus outlook Experience with conducting meetings and presenting information to the NRC Knowledgeable of Westinghouse Technical Specifications and NUREG 1431 Experience with developing License Amendment Request, Topical Reports and 10 CFR 50.59 evaluations Knowledge of the design and operation of pressurized water reactor power plants Willingness to learn and apply skills to new parts of the nuclear industry, including Westinghouse innovation activities, new plants, and advanced reactors
