Westinghouse Electric Company Mechanical Design Engineering Intern Summer 2025 in Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania

As a Mechanical Engineering Intern, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects and gain hands-on experience in the field of mechanical engineering. You will be part of a dynamic team and contribute to the design, development, and implementation of technical products and systems. This internship will provide you with valuable insights into the industry and help you develop your engineering skills.

Responsibilities: Assist in the design, development, and analysis of mechanical systems and components. Prepare technical documentation, including design specifications, reports, and calculation notes. Support ongoing projects by authoring and verifying non-conformance reports. Participate in technical presentations and written communications for customers and management. Conduct research on new technologies and manufacturing processes. Use analytical skills to solve technical engineering problems. Collaborate with the manufacturing team to improve processes and design assembly fixtures. Engage in design reviews and present technical designs and analysis results to team members. Support the department with necessary technical, lab testing, or clerical work. Qualifications: Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Minimum GPA of 3.0. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in software tools such as AutoCAD, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Willingness to learn new engineering skills and work on multiple projects. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Previous internship or project experience in mechanical engineering is a plus. Preferred Skills: Experience with 3D CAD and analytical tools. Knowledge of ASME Section III and RCC-M code. Familiarity with ANSYS, Inventor, and Matlab.
