Warehouse Worker - Back Up Delivery Driver

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Receive materials from trucks and transport to storage areas.
  • Manually move materials from storage areas to loading dock
  • Pack and unpack items to be stocked.
  • Store items in an orderly and accessible manner
  • Examine and inspect stock items for wear or defects.
  • Receive and count stock items and record data.
  • Mark stock items using identification tags, stamps, electric marking tools, or other labeling equipment.
  • Verify inventory computations by comparing them to physical counts of stock and investigate discrepancies or adjust errors.
  • Issue or distribute materials, products, parts, and supplies to customers or coworkers.
  • Aid or direct other stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard workers
  • Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Recommend disposal of excess, defective, or obsolete stock
  • Keep records of the use or damage of stock or stock-handling equipment.
  • Prepare and maintain records and reports of inventories, shortages, shipments, expenditures, and goods used or issued.
  • Determine proper storage methods, identification, and stock location based on turnover, environmental factors, and physical capabilities of facilities.
  • Compile, review, and maintain data from contracts, purchase orders, requisitions, and other documents to assess supply needs.
  • Determine sequence and release of back orders according to stock availability.
  • Confer with purchasing personnel and vendors regarding stock procurement and availability.
  • Operate forklifts and manual jacks safely.
  • Accurately prepare orders for delivery and properly load materials into delivery trucks.
  • Ensure a clean and orderly workplace.
  • Ability to utilize inventory bar code equipment.
  • Obey traffic laws and follow established traffic and transportation procedures.
  • Read maps and follow written or verbal geographic directions.
  • Verify the contents of inventory loads against shipping papers.
  • Safely load and unload trucks
  • Deliver materials and/or equipment to the specified locations.
  • Maintain records, such as vehicle logs, records of cargo, or billing statements, in accordance with regulations.
  • Inspect and maintain vehicle supplies and equipment, such as gas, oil, water, tires, lights, or brakes, to ensure that vehicles are in proper working condition - Report problems.
  • Present bills and receipts and collect payments for goods delivered or loaded.
  • Report delays, accidents, traffic, and transportation situations to bases or other vehicles.
  • Use and maintain the tools or equipment found on commercial vehicles.
  • Assist in maintaining a safe and clean work environment including delivery vehicles.
  • Adhere to all OSHA guidelines and NSI Safety policies.
  • All other duties as assigned.
