Position Description: Develops software applications using Java, Node.js, and Python. Designs and architects cloud native applications using Amazon Web Services (AWS), GCP, and Azure. Performs Micro-Services Architecture concepts and emerging patterns -- JSON document (swagger doc). Uses in-depth knowledge of the business or function to provide business unit-wide solutions by developing complex, multi-faceted software applications. Researches and recommends new technologies in support of the strategic direction of the business unit. Draws on in-depth knowledge of the business or function to provide business unit-wide solutions by developing complex, multi-faceted software applications. Researches and recommends new technologies in support of the strategic direction of the business unit and participates in the research and recommendation of appropriate models, methods, tools, and technologies to achieve business-unit-wide solutions. Primary Responsibilities: · Translates and incorporates business vision and strategy to architectural strategy.· Recommendations at the functional level.· Participates in high-level, cross- functional architecture design teams.· Identifies and consults with internal and external technical resources to produce cross-company strategic designs.· Consults on development and delivery of major technology initiatives for the business unit.· Consults on deployment of major project deliverables.· Consults on the documentation of major technology application.· Oversees the technical implementation of cross-divisional or company architectural components.· Initiates and drives project or strategy discussions with users or external groups to resolve issues.· Sets vision, goals, and direction of team/organization.· Plans and leads organization-wide initiatives.· Provides leadership, technical supervision, and expertise to multiple teams in broad technical areas on complex organization-wide projects.· Advises senior management on technical strategy.· Researches and recommends new technologies.· Works across groups to identify opportunities for organization-wide technology initiatives.· Regularly provides guidance, training, and coaching to other team members for performance and career development.· Identifies and plans for future resource needs.· Determines technical approaches at a strategic level for the business unit. Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Information Management, Business Administration, or a closely related field and six (6) years of experience as a Director, Software Engineering (or closely related occupation) designing, developing, delivering large scale digital applications in leading financial services organizations in an Agile environment, using Angular, React, Node JS, JavaScript, Typescript, or AWS. Or, alternatively, Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Information Management, Business Administration, or a closely related field and four (4) years of experience as a Director, Software Engineering (or closely related occupation) designing, developing, delivering large scale digital applications in leading financial services organizations in an Agile environment, using Angular, React, Node JS, JavaScript, Typescript, or AWS. Skills and Knowledge: Candidate must also possess: · Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) architecting and delivering enterprise grade web, mobile and server-side applications in a financial services environment using microservices, event-driven and Domain Driven Design (DDD) architectures to provide technical solutions and providing technical and architectural governance and oversight of mono-repo based repositories.· DE designing, developing, and testing scalable cloud-based software using Angular, React.js, Node.js, or TypeScript, including deploying applications on Amazon Web Services (AWS), containerize web apps with Docker, and configure continuous build and automated deployment using Maven and Jenkins.· DE managing application release for financial enterprise systems using Git and Artifactory, including debugging end-user issues with Visual Studio and IntelliJ and analyze logs with Splunk and Datadog to resolve bugs without affecting other modules.· DE leading a team of software developers in the development and support of large-scale digital financial service systems in Public Cloud Amazon Web Services (AWS), using front end (Angular and React) and server side (Node.js) technologies according to engineering compliance practices, technology blueprint standards, and Agile methodologies.
