Position Summary

The Cure Press Operator ensures the proper operation of mold press machinery by feeding and/or removing rubber slugs from cure press equipment. The operator ensures safe and proper operation of the cure press.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintains safe environment and a clean and orderly workplace per 3S standards.

  • Responsible for performing regular quality checks as per SOP.

  • Identify and resolve minor mechanical and quality problems.

  • Sets up and operates automated presses that mold and cure golf ball cores.

  • Inspects rubber slugs for surface defects and verifies weight of slugs.

  • Places rubber slugs into trays safely using golf ball core guidelines.

  • Loads and unloads trays into curing oven, and bakes cores to harden them.

  • Tears flash ring from core edges and removes cores from molds by using vacuum hose.

  • Inspects rubber cores for surface defects and verifies weight of cores.

  • Checks equipment often to confirm it is running smoothly for continuous cure press operation.

  • Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to communicate effectively with other employees.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply commonsense with understanding to provide detailed written and/or oral instructions. Ability to be flexible with problem solving and reach resolutions appropriately.

Physical Demands

Work Environment

The work environment described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near heated equipment, moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to sharp objects, pinch points, and/or vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes and airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Steel/Composite toed shoes, heat resistant gloves, eye and ear protection is company provided (within reason) and always worn in this area. The indoor temperature is not a climate-controlled environment and can be seasonably hot or cold depending on the weather temperatures outside.

Minimum Qualifications

Typically requires a high school degree; or 1-2 year vocational training / associates degree
