Archer is an aerospace company based in San Jose, California building an all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft with a mission to advance the benefits of sustainable air mobility. What youll do
  • As the Site Quality Director for Archer you will report directly to our Head of Quality, you will have the responsibility for overseeing the Quality Management System and quality functional support for aircraft production, flight operations, and delivery occurring in Georgia.
  • Take a key leadership role in the development and deployment of quality procedures, and standards to ensure Archer meets AS9100 and FAA requirements.
  • Lead the establishment of an aircraft inspection plan during the test and production phases of the program at Covington
  • Execute / Oversee the assurance process for the Midnight program incorporating risk based approach to inspection
  • Lead the development and roll out of Advanced Product Quality Planning techniques such as PFMEAs, control plans and SPC and establish tools/processes to maintain the digital thread throughout the lifecycle
  • Responsible for establishing and leading process quality for the purpose of improving process performance and stability through the effective deployment of process quality and statistical process control
  • Responsible for ensuring the GA quality function stays within the overall quality budget requirements
  • Develop and support long- and short-term planning, policies, programs and objectives
  • Lead efforts to implement lean management systems, lean tools, and standardize key processes including materials management and quality systems
  • Collaborate and positively influence cross-functional teams to integrate quality into all business processes

What you need
  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial) with at least 10+ years experience leading quality teams within aerospace with direct oversight of aircraft assembly or flight operations.
  • Experience hiring, leading and managing salaried and hourly employees
  • Experience with electronic MES systems and driving quality metrics to improve business performance
  • Experience leading all aspects of quality to include:
    • QMS (Quality Management System)
    • Auditing (Internal and External)
    • 3rd Party Certification, Receiving Inspection
    • In-Process Inspection
    • Product Quality Engineering
    • FMEA (Failure Mode Effects Analysis) implementation
    • RCCA (Root Cause Corrective Action)
    • SPC implementation (Statistical Process Controls)
    • APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning)
    • Deployment of quality inspection technologies.
  • Experience overseeing and implementing AS9100 certification with an in-depth understanding of AS9102, AS9103, AS9145, and AS6500.
  • Direct experience establishing and leading CAB (Corrective Action Board) and MOR (Monthly Operations Review) quality reviews with senior leadership.
Bonus qualifications
  • Experience establishing real time dashboards used throughout the organization
  • Experience with flight line testing and working with the FAA during a production certification process
  • Six Sigma Black/Green Belt, AS9100 Lead Auditor or ASQ Certified Quality Manager
  • Experience with electric pow rtrain or aerospace composite assembly processes
  • Experience leading multiple manufacturing sites/locations
  • Background or experience with airworthiness assignment and customer aircraft acceptance

We drive a pay-for-performance culture and reward performance that supports the Companys business strategy. For this position we are targeting a base pay between $173,400 - $204,000. Actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
