Job Summary

Coordinates the procurement and scheduled use of resources such as labor, equipment, and materials to ensure maximum use and completion of work within budget, safety guidelines and quality standards. Will enforce operating procedures and work standards that will ensure adequate performance and personnel safety of the grounds maintenance operations for Emanate Health designated properties; must have the ability to provide a high quality finished product and pay attention to the details; supervises all grounds staff; delegates work depending on organizational priorities; develops staff schedules; must be knowledgeable on plant health & care; develops and sets schedules for maintaining, trimming, & fertilizing a diverse variety of fauna; Oversees the proper operation, scheduling and maintenance of all irrigation systems; work with grounds crew to complete daily duties as necessary to complete task and leave areas in excellent condition. In addition the grounds crew moves furniture and performs other duties as assigned. Must have a passion for grounds work and experience in maintaining a wide variety of horticultural environments on a large scale that include, flowers, lawns, shrubs and trees. Must be able to understand complex to basic sprinkler system mechanics and multi sprinkler timer functions; must know proper times for fertilization, pruning and trimming of a wide variety of plants. Inspects completed work to ensure conformance to specifications and standards. Makes suggestions on plant options and outsourcing of major landscape renovations and major tree trimming in collaboration with the Plant Operations Manager and Corporate Director.

Job Requirements

M inimum Education Requirement :

Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Must be able to read and write English.

Minimum Experience Requirement :

Five years in grounds maintenance required with supervisory experience. Healthcare facilities maintenance or industrial maintenance is a plus. Must be able to safely handle power equipment and instruct other on safe use.

Minimum License Requirement :

Fork lift license required. LA County QAL (Qualified Applicator License) herbicide certification used for grounds maintenance required within 1 year of hire/transfer. Current California State Driver License. Must have no more than one (1) moving citation in a three (3) year period; must have no more than one (1) at-fault accident in a three (3) year period. Accidents will be considered at-fault unless evidence is provided (i.e. police report and/or letter from insurance company) showing the incident as not at-fault.

Pay Range:

$32.00 - $45.77
