Title Quality Assurance Internship Description Summer 2025 Internship Opportunity Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Customized Solutions QA Specialist to join our quality assurance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that our customized solutions meet the highest standards of quality and performance. This role requires an understanding of electrical systems, problem-solving skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences. Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions: Job shadowing various roles and departments to learn about Van Meter Collaborate with the engineering and sales teams to understand client specifications and requirements for customized solutions. Develop and implement quality assurance protocols and testing methodologies to evaluate customized products. Perform inspections and testing of electrical components and systems to ensure compliance with industry standards and client expectations. Analyze test results and provide feedback for continuous improvement of product design and manufacturing processes. Document quality assurance processes, findings, and recommendations in detailed reports. Participate in the development of training materials and quality-related documentation. Assist in resolving any quality-related issues, including conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions. Stay updated on industry trends, standards, and regulations to ensure compliance and enhance product quality. Attend and participate in company and department meetings Achieve a strong competency in all needed databases, tools, systems, and processes Manage communication both internally and externally Perform assigned tasks as directed Critical Success Factors: Excellent internal and external customer service Excellent interpersonal skills, Strong communication skills written and oral Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and pay attention to detail Self-motivated and energetic Willingness to learn, grow, and adapt to change Ability to maintain a positive attitude and solid work ethic Dependable Demonstrated decision-making ability, able to analyze workload and establish priorities with deadlines Ability to work collaboratively with all departments Strong team orientation yet able to work independently Job Requirements/Specifications: High School Graduate Currently enrolled in a College or University pursuing an associate or bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Quality Assurance or a related field Proven experience in quality assurance, preferably in the electrical supply or manufacturing industry Strong knowledge of electrical systems, components, and industry standards (e.g., UL) Proficiency in quality management tools and methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma) Considered a Leader Excellent ability to learn and implement new software packages quickly Proven people skills Able to commit to a set work schedule Proficient in Microsoft Office software specifically Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Work Environment & Physical Demand: Occasional (less than 1 time per week): Pushing, Climbing, Crouching, Vision acuity - far, Depth perception, Field of vision, Vision adjustment, Color vision, Driving, Works alone, Extended day, Work outdoors Some (less than 1/3 of the time): Standing, Walking, Lifting, Carrying, Bending @ the waist, Twisting upper body, Reaching Consistent (more than 2/3s of the time): Sitting, Working with hands, Working with fingers, Talking, Hearing, Vision acuity - near, Works with others, Customer contact, Work indoors The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by an incumbent.
