10643 – Technical Operation Engineer I (VR/OTA)
SUMMARY
Responsible for the North American Master Content Provider (MCP) server operation, especially VR (Voice Recognition) and OTA (Over-The-Air) services. Responsibilities include quality engineering (quality assurance), supporting development efforts, quality validation, content provider (CP) related customer service, and daily monitoring of the services (server). Respond to Headquarters, content providers and other client requests. Collaborate with other groups to complete projects.
Content Providers, including but not limited to: Voice Recognition (VR), Charging Stations (e.g. EVgo, ChargePoint, etc.), Weather, Speed Camera, Local Search, and others
OTA services including customers (HKMC) and system providers (Mobis, LGE)
Plan and perform regular/occasional field driving & bench tests to validate and improve overall content provider data quality. Collect, interpret, and visualize driving test data for the purpose of improving user experience. Utilize necessary tools for in-depth analyses of CPs data quality, and communicate with CPs to maintain and improve the accuracy of the provided data.
Manage relationships and coordinate efforts between various content provider organizations and all Hyundai subsidiaries. Additional obligations include supporting client tests and collaborating with headquarters. Also, support the overall systems operation between CPs, clients, and headquarters.
OTA portal operation is one of the main roles of this position to ensure the SW update on vehicle head-unit through the air. Monitor the dashboard of OTA service transactions and server capability of each OTA service. Collaborate with headquarters and customers to ensure the SW update via OTA services and managing issues with customer and headquarters.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Operation Management
Report daily/monthly user usage trends by cross analyzing data from the Connected Car Service (CCS) servers, Master Content Provider (MCP) servers including VR and OTA services (LMS, CDN etc.)
Conduct regular meetings with clients and content providers to collaborate on field test operations to improve the quality of contents related services
Monitor the status of the VR/OTA/MCP servers and react to any malfunctions
Communicate with the CCS team regarding server issues, system maintenance, and client request
Communicate with the content providers to resolve any and all issues that arise with their data and processes
Communicate with the customers like HKMC and LGE/Mobis to resolve any and all issues that arise with OTA.
Content Provider (CP) and Server Validation Testing
Research and prepare required test environments and corresponding vehicles to confirm the functionality of software
Create and manage test cases based on the development requirements
Execute, gather and distribute the results of tests and test cases
Plan and conduct drive (field) tests to validate that CP data is correct and processes are functioning as well as testing the overall software update
Conduct lab tests to validate that CP data is correct and processes are functioning
Organize and analyze test data to identify errors and points of improvements
Raise issues revealed from testing, check the progress of the fixes, and validate the fixes through additional testing
OTA (Over-The-Air) Service Operation and Monitoring
Research and prepare required test environments and corresponding vehicles to confirm the functionality of software
Address specification, testing, and quality verification inquiries from the AVNT OTA FUMO/SCOMO responsible organization of HKMC in each region.
Communicate and confirm actions with the responsible person in case of integration issues between SBS and the Service Hub in each region
Communicate with HQ common operators before the start of regular operations in each region.
Monitor the distribution status to ensure no issues arise and that regular operations are carried out smoothly
Check the CDN traffic usage of the responsible regional domain in the CDN Portal and report any anomalies to the HQ common operators
Verify the total communication count, success count, failure count, and failure rate for each service protocol in the LMS. Identify any causes upon reaching specific thresholds and communicate them to the HQ common operators.
In accordance with the request from HQ's common operator, monitor the system status irregularly, and communicate with the representatives of each system and region.
Incident Management
Respond to customer reported issues
Respond to and analyze customer issues by investigating and identifying the root cause, reporting a solution, and recommending possible improvements
Quality Engineering
Investigate the application of new features and perform tests for those new features
Perform local testing for head unit related features on all available platforms
Review existing logic and support the development team in deciding logic changes based on characteristics of NA environments

JOB REQUIREMENTS
BS / BA degree or equivalent experience
2+ years of experience in quality assurance, engineering, or other related field
Understanding and ability to use collaboration tools (JIRA, Confluence, etc.)
Experience using Car Connected Services
Experience with test automation tools
Strong root-cause analysis skills
Detailed knowledge of IT security
Experience with Python, Matlab, and SQL scripting
Experience of Cloud Server such as AWS
Excellent oral presentation and writing skills
Organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and ability to meet deadlines
Experience in automotive technology industry preferred
Korean bi-lingual strongly preferred
Hourly Range - $29.01/hour to $41.48/hour
