JM Murray Center Maintenance Mechanic Supervisor in Cortland, New York

Manage the day to day operations of the Maintenance Staff of JM Murray. The Supervisor is expected to work daily alongside the Maintenance staff and cover any role within the Maintenance department to achieve daily workloads and priorities.

COMPANY STANDARDS

Maintains regular attendance and punctuality in order to perform tasks related to daily production demands. This position performs all hours onsite and at all assigned physical locations of operations. Follows all safety rules and regulations; wears and/or uses required protective equipment while working; immediately reports any safety concerns or unsafe working conditions to Operations and Facilities management. Conducts all aspects job responsibilities in compliance with the JM Murray mission statement, policies and procedures, professional standards, and applicable governmental laws, rules and regulations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Performs complex repair of all mechanical systems for assigned equipment and buildings. Learns operation of production equipment and performs repairs. Assists in job set-up. Repairs assigned equipment to satisfactorily maintain appearance and operation. Constructs buildings, offices, work areas, including installation and/or modification of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, heating and air conditioning systems as required. Maintains up-to-date work records on equipment including but not limited to air compressors, heating and air conditioning units, exhaust fans, dust collectors, make-up air units, and any other faulty equipment on a regular maintenance schedule. Maintains up-to-date daily timesheets, describing work performed and time spent on each job, project or task performed As assigned by the Director, assists in training new maintenance employees in all areas they will work on a regular basis, as well as areas they may perform as a functional back up. On a day to day basis, will also coordinate the workflow of maintenance employees on assigned tasks and projects. Performs preventative maintenance in accordance with established procedures, including procedural improvements and the creation of new procedures as required. Maintains records and schedules of maintenance work. Reviews timecards for Maintenance staff according to the JMM payroll schedule. Approves timecards according to JM Murray Policies and procedures. Attends all required and requested training and meetings, and maintains updates and certifications for required training as assigned. Conducts self in a manner as to always contribute to maximum individual growth and in accordance with all regulations and Company policy and procedures. Represents JM Murray and the JM Murray mission in a positive manner, treating people with dignity and respect. Performs additional duties and responsibilities, as assigned. COLLABORATION

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

High School Education or equivalent; Minimum 6 years total maintenance experience as described above, including carpentry work, automotive repair, yard work including lawn mowing and snow removal, and painting of interior and exterior walls. Experience supervising and directing a team is required.
