Racker Family Support Coordinator and Library Support in Cortland, New York

Overview

In this unique position, you will primarily focus on coordinating community-based support services for families while also managing and enhancing the accessibility of Racker’s Family Support Services (FSS) Lending Library. Rate: $18.60-$20.60 per hour

Responsibilities

Primary: Family Support Coordinator

  • Ensure families receive timely, high-quality services and support.

  • Act as a liaison between individuals/families, community support professionals, and Care Managers.

  • Assess individual and family needs, initiate appropriate services, and provide referrals as necessary.

  • Develop and oversee Staff Action Plans in collaboration with families, Care Managers, and community professionals.

  • Recruit, train, and supervise Community Support Professionals, ensuring quality services and credential compliance.

  • Conduct performance evaluations and facilitate staff development opportunities.

  • Maintain confidential records for individuals and staff, ensuring compliance with documentation standards.

  • Promote public awareness of community support programs and encourage community inclusion for service participants.

  • Complete monthly reports and financial/usage reviews as required.

    Secondary: Library Support Specialist

  • Oversee daily operations of Racker’s Lending Library, ensuring it is safe, organized, and accessible.

  • Provide customer-focused support to individuals and families seeking library services.

  • Maintain library inventory, including inspecting, sanitizing, and organizing materials.

  • Collaborate with volunteers and other programs to deliver library services effectively.

  • Prepare service documentation and quarterly summaries for reporting purposes.

  • Ensure compliance with OPWDD (Office for People with Developmental Disabilities) guidelines and administrative requirements.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:Bachelor’s degree preferred, or a combination of education and relevant experience. Minimum of one year working with individuals with developmental disabilities.

Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.

  • Strong writing and computer skills.

  • Ability to prioritize, multitask, and work both independently and collaboratively.

  • Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation.

    Knowledge:Familiarity with developmental disabilities, human development, family dynamics, and local community resources.
