The work is performed in accordance with general policies and objectives outlined by the Executive Director. Supervision is exercised over all subordinate maintenance staff. Does related work as required.Work Hours: Full-time with benefitsSalary: $70,000-$80,000/YRLocation: Cortland Housing AuthorityStatus: Competitive, ProvisionalBenefits: 80 % Health and Dental Insurance paid by employer; paid holidays, personal, vacation and sick leave; vision benefits and New York State retirement. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS; Either:(a)Possession of Bachelor’s Degree or higher in engineering, building or construction technology or related field and (4) four years of full-time paid or its part-time equivalent experience in one or more of the following areas: design, construction, maintenance, repair or inspection of buildings, related facilities or structural construction projects, at least (2) two years of which shall have been in a supervisory capacity; OR(b) Possession of Associate’s Degree in engineering, building or construction technology or related field and (6) six years of full-time paid or its part-time equivalent experience in one or more of the following areas: design, construction, maintenance, repair or inspection of buildings, related facilities or structural construction projects, at least (2) two years of which shall have been in a supervisory capacity; OR(c)High school diploma and eight (8) years of full-time paid or its part-time equivalent experience in one or more of the following areas: design, construction, maintenance, repair or inspection of buildings, related facilities or structural construction projects, at least (2) two years of which shall have been in a supervisory capacity; OR(d)An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of (a) and (b) and (c) above.SPECIAL REQUIREMENTSCandidate must possess a NYS Class D driver’s license at the time of appointment and must maintain said license for the duration of employment. Successful completion of (1) a Class C Public Water System Operator Certification and (2) a Cross Connection and Backflow Prevention Device Certification within twelve (12) months of appointment. Failure to obtain/maintain certifications throughout employment will result in disciplinary action or dismissal.Pre-employment screenings required.
